Hello and welcome!
My name is Brigitte Martinez and I am the author of Thrift Store Goldmines.
I have been selling on eBay for over 10 years. 99% of everything I sell is from Thrift Stores. I’m also a self proclaimed Thrift Store Junkie! I can’t stay out of thrift stores. Thanks to eBay I can keep up my thrift store shopping addiction.
You see , I NEVER EVER have a problem finding something in a thrift store to resell on eBay. It’s very hard for me to walk out and not purchase the treasures I find. Luckily, eBay came along for me in 1998 and I thought I’d give it a try. The first item I sold was an Asian scarf I found for 25 cents. I resold it for $10. That’s it! I was hooked.
Before eBay, I used to buy things, well , just to buy them! I could not leave them be when they were so valuable and / or collectible items AND for so cheap! I did decorate my home with most of the things I found. I also wore a lot of the fashions but quickly, it became clutter. I slowed down on my purchases and it was very hard for me. Like I said, I’m a junkie!
But since eBay allows me a way to pass on the treasures I find, I now am able to enjoy my hobby AND make very good money doing so.
I now make hundreds to thousands of dollars with all the thrift store items I find and resell.
Fast forward to July of 2009. I decided to write a book about what to look for in thrift stores that sell VERY well on eBay and on a recurring basis. I am very proud of my book and am proud of the money I’ve helped others make.
My book focuses on vintage items as they are usually one of kind (versus mass retail items) and the nostalgia niche is VERY SOUGHT AFTER! I now have this blog to discuss the book a little further and hear from my readers as well as answer any questions you may have.
